SBHEM has a primary affiliation with CUNY School of Medicine and SBH acts as the primary clinical site for CSOM. Our tracks include a wide spectrum of interests including ultrasound, critical care, medical education and more. We have subspecialty tracks, which allow residents to further explore a niche interest in emergency medicine while in residency and prepare our residents as leaders in emergency medicine and as competitive fellowhip applicants. With the support of our 30 core faculty, our didactic curriculum is challenging, interactive and constantly evolving to meet the needs of modern emergency medicine residents. ![]() Our residency is built on fast paced, high-volume and high-acuity clinical environment of the Bronx. With over 300 alumni, our graduates are well represented in leadership, community and academic positions throughout the country. The emergency medicine residency is a fundamental pillar of the hospital and has been educating residents since 1991. Training in NYC is fantastic and we take full advantage of available resources with rotations at the New York Poison Center, EMS training with FDNY and pediatric training at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, one of the country’s best pediatric hospitals for over a decade.
